Postage
I post worldwide.
Lots of my work head over to the USA, Ireland Australia and New Zealand.
I am happy to post anywhere in the world. I normally use Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed as I have found it most reliable but if you are worried I can organise it to go via courier or Special Delivery.
Let me know when ordering and I will see what we can sort out.
Watercolour Portraits
All my work is hand drawn and painted. The watercolours are on Watercolour 300gsm cold pressed (textured art paper).
They come unmounted and unframed as standard.
Up to A4 size will be packed in hard card envelopes, A3 and above are sent in hard postal tubes.
Framing
The watercolours are in standard sizing so easy to get a frame to fit.
Normally a simple frame with a white or cream mount look nice but very much personal taste.
You get lots of choices on the online frame shops, such as eFrames or Frames.co.uk. You can normally add the photo so you can see how it will look.
It is very worth getting a custom made mount a few mm smaller than that size for ease of framing if you are planning on doing it yourself. Normally the made up mounts are very close to the exact size so are a bit more tricky to get to fit really well.
The difference between Watercolour and Oil Paintings
I often get asked the difference between Oil and Watercolours Paintings?

Neither is 'better' than the other and both have their pro's and con's as a medium (well with me anyway).

My watercolours are flowy and natural. They are by nature quite a fluid medium and I build up the translucent layers to create the detailing and texture. They are on heavy watercolour art paper, cold pressed (textured) and come unmounted and unframed.
As the watercolour dries quickly it is much quicker turnaround and faster process.

My Oils are more structured, (to me anyway). I can achieve a level of intenseness to the colours such as a black background and texture to the piece in a different fashion to the watercolours.

They are either on stretched canvas or on canvas covered board. The stretched canvas has the advantage that it can be hung without framing, people find the canvas covered board easier to frame at home if you are wanting to frame your Oil Painting. They come unmounted and unframed.

The oil paint has a longer drying time, not only on the finished painting but the layers of paint I need to allow to dry before putting more detail on top if I need to add in dry brush work.

The main thing is that it is art, it is subjective. It is entirely personal choice between them.
You are commissioning a painting to hang on your wall or for someone you love, chose what you like
Timeline and Updates
Timelines are an estimate only. They do depend on the time of year and how busy I am. If you need something for a certain date do let me know in advance.
Illustration Timeline - about 4 weeks

Watercolour Timeline - 4 to 6 weeks

Oil Timeline - 6 to 8 weeks

Stationary set Timeline - 6 to 8 weeks

Photo updates are sent out once the piece is about 70% complete, at that point the likeness is there and you will be able to see how the piece will turn out.
